5 INTERESTING AREAS TO VISIT NEAR SAADANI HOTEL -MIKOCHENI

Saadani tourist center is located in Mikocheni B; Dar es Salaam at Kona Street. Mikocheni has variety of accommodation including Hotels, apartments and smaller villas on smaller plots and houses for government and parastatal employees. Some of the buildings are used as headquarters for non-governmental organizations or offices for local businesses.

Houses in Mikocheni generally have inside parking and street parking is also good. In the south of the area is Regent Estate, a planned residential area popular with politicians. Here there are large houses with gardens and the roads are surfaced.
The neighborhood also has a tidy industrial area including the local Coca-Cola factory.

1. Mwenge Wood Carvers’ Village

Saadani tourist center is 1 km away from Mwenge wood carvers village. Mwenge Carvers’ Village is a major attraction in Dar es Salaam if you are in the market for Tanzanian souvenirs. Though there is a lot of the same same type of things, if you take the time to browse around you’ll come
away with some unique and quality   Tanzanian handicrafts.

          



2. Coco Beach
Saadani tourist center is also near to Coco Beach. It’s located on the Msasani Peninsula of Dar Es Salaam. If you are looking for fun things to do in Dar es Salaam, head over to Coco Beach on the weekend when it’s packed full of local Tanzanians and Asians. There are plenty of street food snacks and sometimes live music. The open area is also a place where frequent concerts and parties take place. Swimming is not really recommended at Coco Beach, though some choose to wade in the water.
                         
 3. Mbudja & Bongoyo Island.
Saadani tourist center is also not away from these islands .It’s about 15 minutes motorboat ride from the main land. Sun seekers come here to bask on the islands white-sand beaches, snorkel, and swim in the turquoise water. Banda’s (thatched huts) are available for rent on the beach, and locals sell fresh barbecued seafood’s and cold drinks. This is one of the most popular day trips from the city.


4. Village Museum
When staying at Saadani tourist center you can get the chance to visit Village museum. Village Museum showcases traditional dwellings from some of Tanzania's 120 ethnic groups. You can wander through replicas of tribal homesteads scattered across 15 acres and learn about traditional customs and crafts. The museum also hosts Ngoma, tribal dances, and other cultural activities. Children, in particular, love exploring the different huts and traditional artifacts. The Village Museum offers a chance to observe a number of typical style Tanzanian traditional huts and learn more about the tribes of the country.
